Former Optus chief executive Bob Mansfield has been invited to join the Telstra board of directors and will replace David Hoare as chairman of the organisation in the near future.
Mansfield is replacing retiring director Mike Codd, who has decided not to stand for re-election at Telstra's November annual general meeting.
David Hoare has indicated he plans to retire as chairman soon after the annual meeting.
