RSL Com reports increased revenues

RSL Communications has recorded a revenue increase of 194.5 per cent for the year ended December 31, 1998.

Revenues for the year were $885.9 million, compared to $300.8 million for the year ended 1997.

For Q4 1998, the company recorded a revenue increase of 197.5 per cent. Revenues were $321.8 million, compared with $108.2 million for Q4 1997.

According to officials, 12.4 per cent of Q4 1998 revenues were generated from operations in Australia and other regions, compared with 44.8 per cent from North America and 42.8 per cent from Europe.

RSL Com CEO and president, Itzhak Fisher said: "1998 was a phenomenal year in the growth of RSLCommunications . . . our strategy has been to focus on winning and retaining customers, which now total over 900,000."

According to officials, the company is operating in 21 countries and has access to more than 70 per cent of the world's international communications traffic.
