Smarts plans expansion

Smarts and Kinetica last week launched the InCharge Solutions Suite of software designed to manage networks, systems, applications and availability. The suite is part of a 12-month expansion plan in Australia.

Founder and president of Smarts, Shaula Yemeni claims the IT management solution identifies problems that threaten service delivery and has a common information model and patented correlation engine that reveals interactions between technology components across domains.

She said it has the ability to ignore meaningless symptoms and hones in on that impact on service and calculate their business impact to prioritise a response.

"Our product differentiates from others on the market because it has automated intelligence built into the product, therefore automatically adapting to the customers networks," Yemeni said.

Locally, Yemeni said the company will target banks, financial institutions, government and large retailers.

The two companies made their first sale of InCharge in December last year to Network Consulting & Integration (formerly Source Integrated Networks), the MSP division of Singtel Optus Communications.

After research was carried out on the product, and several offers from other vendors considered, such as Net IQ and the Computer Associate's Unicentre, general manager for NC&I, Singtel Optus John Caelli chose InCharge, with features such as detailed layer 2/3/4 discovery and advanced root cause analysis through its Codebook Correlation Technology proving its worth in the first few days of operation.
