CBL expands Brisbane facility

CBL Data Recovery Technologies has doubled the capacity of its Brisbane clean room laboratory at a cost of $100,000.

By expanding the facility CBL can complete 99 percent of complex data recovery projects locally with the remainder sent offshore for verification.

CBL Australia managing director Vicky Brauner said the company is processing more than twice the number of jobs compared to last year.

She said while CBL is planning to recruit new staff, the company will not decide whether technicians will be located in Sydney or Brisbane until September.

According to Brauner, CBL has sent staff to Europe and the UK to research industry trends and gather new expertise.

"We're doing extensive research into Microsoft Vista so we are completely prepared for its launch," she said.

Brauner said CBL was recently awarded International Standards Organization (ISO) 9001:2000 accreditation; an international standard for quality assurance management systems, adding it "is a first for an Australian data recovery company".
