ISP brings wireless broadband to hotels

Sydney-based Independent Service Provider (ISP) has put together a wireless hotel broadband service based on iBurst technology.

It offers hotel guests an iBurst card and installation CD, which provides wireless access to broadband even when they are not in the hotel. Users can choose to have the 1Mbps service for between one and five days at a cost of between $14.95 and $49.95.

The program was trialled for three months across four Sydney locations including the Stamford Rendezvous and the Harbour Rocks Hotel, national sales manager, Bill McArthur, said. Three more hotels had since signed up to the service.

"We have been able to fine tune and now we're ready to launch it nationally," he said.

Since signing a distribution deal with Westan in July, ISP has acquired about 100 reseller partners and system integrators for its iBurst service. ISP was currently in the process of putting together new reseller incentives that including zero activation fees on some of its connection plans.
