Perth integrator gets resourceful with Lotus

Perth-based integrator, Resource Systems and Services, has landed a contract deal with accounting and advisory firm, RSM Bird Cameron, to deploy IBM Lotus QuickPlace solution across its offices nationally.

Resource Systems and Services general manager, Kevin Lewis, said the contract was a significant milestone in its efforts to create a bigger footprint in the accounting and finance sector. Financial terms were not disclosed.

"Hopefully it's going to open doors into more areas but I think we've still got a lot of work to do as far as developing the product even further," he said.

"RSM put a lot of effort into their Lotus Notes technology and hopefully others will see the benefits they are reaping and they'll follow suit."

Resource Systems deployed a 100-user QuickPlace license, which they customised to suit user requirements. RSM has 30 offices across Australia.

Lewis said the QuickPlace solution would help them file, search and share documents in a more convenient manner.

"They only had a paper-based system beforehand. This sees them cutting down on costs and storage, paper and printing," he said. "Now they can also utilise their staff more effectively, instead of wasting time sifting through filing cabinets."

Lewis said IBM had chosen the integrator for the task because it was one of the largest reseller, developer, service and support providers of Lotus Notes in WA.
