New IT strategy for NSW set to be announced

NSW Minister for Commerce, John Della Bosca, will launch the state government's information and communication technology strategic plan in Sydney this week.

The ICT strategy, dubbed "People First", is expected to set the framework for a coordinated government-wide approach to ICT planning, expenditure, and allocation of resources for the next four years and beyond, according to the Department of Commence.

A media briefing will be held on Thursday, July 27 and include an information session presented by the NSW government CIO Paul Edgecumbe.

Edgecumbe will discuss the key priorities, strategies and objectives of the plan, particularly customer and front line service delivery improvements.
