Financial Synergy first ISV to join IBM review program

Opportunities involve access to IBM architects and reduced costs for clients

Melbourne-based ISV, Financial Synergy, has become the first software developer in Asia-Pacific to earn a spot in IBM's Technology Review Board (TRB) program.

The company produces superannuation and investment services software. It was invited to join the program, which involves integrating and deploying its Acurity software products within the IBM System i5 platform.

CIO, Jason Carter, said the TRB program was offered to select ISVs that had a System i5 solution in the market and were committed to ramping up revenues.

"This was certainly a good opportunity for us. IBM is keen to assist ISVs to help develop their platform," he said. "We had to show them our roadmaps and where we want to take our technology and find a line with what they are proposing in the future. It allows us to get a step up knowing what they are going to be doing and makes it easy for us to create plans that are going to take advantage of that."

Carter said some of the opportunities involved included having access to IBM architects and the ability to take prospective clients to the US to use their facilities for either performance testing or looking at System i hardware.

He said clients also had the advantage of accessing a more sustainable and cost-effective solution.
