LG Investment Group goes live with integrated trading platform

More than 20 local firms leveraging the management system

Melbourne-based LG Investment Group Ltd (LGI) this week went live with a new trading platform following a three-week implementation.

The Australian investment firm has automated portfolio management and introduced trading and pre-trade compliance monitoring of its asset management operations for domestic equities, options and futures on one integrated platform.

Implementation of the Charles River Investment Management System (IMS) allows users to leverage the network to support order and trade executions with real-time direct-connect FIX (Financial Information Exchange) access to local and global trading destinations.

The company's managing director, Terry Gray, said LGI required a flexible and scalable solution to support its growth plans in Australia.

Gray said the system was installed within budget and ahead of schedule while workflow has improved significantly by eliminating manual spreadsheets.

Charles River Development APAC managing director, Cameron Field, said real-time FIX connectivity will help LGI meet evolving market requirements.

Field said the company joins more than 20 Australian firms leveraging IMS which can be integrated into the Charles River network which connects to hundreds of broker-dealer destinations, algorithmic brokers and other trading venues worldwide.

Founded in 1984, Charles River Development provides technology systems and services to more than 250 investment firms in the institutional, mutual fund, banking, hedge fund, wealth management, insurance and pension industries.
