LG announced the launch of the LG-GD900 Crystal, the world's first transparent phone, and the LG GM730 yesterday at CommunicAsia 2009.

According to a press release, the Crystal is also the first phone to feature LG's next generation touch technology, Gesture Command that works with the 3D S-Class User Interface.

The Crystal's touchpad can be used both as an alphanumeric keypad and a multi-touch touchpad for controlling the phone

The phone also lets users launch an application by pressing the phone's multitasking button and drawing one of 12 symbols on the keypad. Users can assign these symbols to any of the phone's nine multitasking-enabled features. The phone also features a dedicated graphics chipset and an 8 megapixel AF camera.

The LG-GD900 Crystal is due to hit shelves in June in selected countries in Asia and Europe and will then debut in other countries across the globe.

The release further describes the GM730 as the first smartphone to offer the new version of Windows Mobile 6.1, integrated with 3D S-Class User Interface. The phone also has multimedia features such as a 5 megapixel camera, MP3 player and games. The LG-GM730 will be available globally, with its initial launch in Asia this July. The LG-GM730's launch coincides with the opening of LG Application Store, which expand the capabilities of LG's smartphones.
