School canteen gets savvy with SMS lunch orders

NSW school rolls out SMS payment system for lunch orders

Payment service company mHITs has officially rolled out its school canteen SMS payment service, Easy Canteen, allowing parents to pay for their children's lunch order by SMS text message.

Easy Canteen works by sending an SMS text message to the mHITs server. You don't have to register for the service to make a payment and parents can top up the account with money from any bank account or move money out of the system back into an existing bank account.

Easy Canteen can also be used for over-the-counter canteen purchases.

Founder and CEO of mHITs, Harold Dimpel, said he was excited to have Killarney Vale Public School from NSW on board as one of the first schools to use the payment service.

“Easy Canteen is a simple and convenient solution for school canteen lunch order payment and we are very happy to be working with the enthusiastic staff and volunteers at Killarney Vale Public School” he said.

Killarney Vale Public School will also use the service in the school Uniform Shop so parents can also buy items such as hats, caps, jumpers and pens.
