Didasko man takes senior role at Access1

A managing director has been appointed to Access1 following the broadband carrier's acquisition of vocational training program developer Didasko Software. The job has gone to John Fear, who was formerly Didasko's director of operations.

In the wake of the appointment David Spence will continue as chairman, although on a non-executive basis. Tony Brennan will also continue as a non-executive director with a close eye on Access1's corporate strategy and business development activities.

Spence said the appointment of Fear will enhance the day-to-day management of the company. "This complements the existing technical and industry expertise already in place at management and board level," Spence said.

In the fourth quarter of 2000, Access1 generated revenue of $A318,000 and cut its expenditure some 30 per cent to about $A1.5 million.
