Hail me hearties: Google flies the pirate flag

Talk Like A Pirate Day gets the Google search treatment

Google has entered into the web meme that is International Talk Like A Pirate Day, allowing users to change their language preferences to 'pirate', thereby changing the search engine's famous homepage.

Users can change the interface language for its home page via a dropdown menu in global preferences, changing the buttons to 'Google Searrrch' and 'I Be Feelin' Lucky'.

Pirate speak is not only contained to the search buttons, however. Google has also given the buccaneer treatment to all top level navigation.

"Google realised that our products were not accessible to a large, influential and notoriously quick-tempered community - pirates! We quickly remedied this with the 'Pirate' language option," Google employee, 'Davey Jones', wrote in the company's Australian blog.
