ASX-listed IT services provider Empired Limited (ASX:EPD) has scored a $3 million contract with the Victorian State Government’s Department for Education and Early Childhood Development (DEECD).
The deal is for one year with two one-year extension options available and will see Empired provide infrastructure outsourcing services for the department’s Microsoft server platforms along with integration services.
In a statement, the Western Australia-based company’s managing director, Russell Baskerville, described the deal as a demonstration of Empired’s commitment to expand in Victoria and nationally.
“We are delighted to be awarded this contract by DEECD, one of the largest Victorian Government departments in the state. Our demonstrated success in the WA State government sector was pivotal to being awarded the contract which not only increases Empired’s Victorian profile but further enhances our State Government credentials,” he said.
“On the back of this win Empired will significantly increase staffing levels in Victoria and actively pursue a number of other Victorian State Government IT Outsourcing contracts.”
Earlier in this year, Empired posted a positive financial result for full year to June 30, with a 72 per cent increase in revenue up to $32.63 million and pre-tax earnings also up four per cent to $1.23 million. Significantly, it also increased its long-term contracted recurring revenue by 101 per cent.
