Markinson acquires Adexio

Business software provider and distributor will add CRM/BPM to its portfolio

Local business software provider Markinson has acquired CRM/BPM specialist Adexio as part of its Australian and New Zealand expansion plans.

The deal, for an undisclosed sum, will add additional offices in New Zealand and over 200 customers in Manufacturing, Distribution, Financial Services, IT Services, Medical Products, Government, Education, Hospitality, Procurement and Construction.

According to Markinson, all Adexio management and staff will take up roles at the company.

Commenting on the company’s acquisition plans, Markinson CEO Ian Whiting said the company had performed well in difficult conditions, and was looking to make the most of opportunities presented in the current market.

“This will enable us to extend our breadth of offerings and provide services to our customers in a way that meets their business needs, whilst keeping abreast of market demands and key trends,” he said.

Increasing the scale of the Markinson business in order to compete with large international players was also a factor in the Adexio acquisition, Whiting said.

“[Being a local company] is definitely more challenging, however our customers say they are happier to deal with a local business that is able to provide the type of software solutions they need to run their business most efficiently, and still provide the level of responsiveness they need,” he said.

Whiting said that demand for CRM within Australian SMBs was still on the increase and that despite some SMB's preference for a cloud-based solution, many were happy to have on-premise applications that they can host and manage themselves.

“Fortunately Markinson are also able to provide a range of managed services which enable the customer to outsource their infrastructure and software whilst benefiting from the amazing service levels and subscription pricing that comes with a hosted solution,” he said.

“[Adexio’s] links to BPM are especially beneficial to small businesses that are looking for ways to become more efficient and we're able to provide software that manages those business processes through integrated workflow and automated alerts.”
