Vizioncore looks to improve disaster recovery

New technology helps speed up data transmission

Virtualisation specialist, Vizioncore claims to have slashed the cost of virtualisation disaster recovery. The company has launched vReplicator 3.0 with the aim of reducing the total cost of ownership of business continuity.

Key to the new launch is so-called Active Blocking Mapping (ABM) technology which speeds up data transmission by only replicating changed blocks and not the unnecessary "white space" that slow down the process. Vizioncore said that the new product also helped administrators meet shorter recovery time objectives (RTO) and recovery point objectives (RPO) through its new Advanced Replication Engine which the company claimed offered improved performance. Vizioncore also claimed that the product could be used by companies from the mid-sized businesses to large corporates.

"Disaster recovery and business continuity is critical whether you work in a huge multinational or a regular small business - having access to data in the event of an unexpected outage will save an organisation thousands if not millions of dollars and so compromising cannot be an option," said Devang Kothari, product manager, Vizioncore. "vReplicator 3.0 provides affordable technology that many businesses most likely thought out of reach with their IT budgets."
