Registrations have opened for the Federal Government’s infrastructure committee’s ThinkFuture conference in Canberra.
To be held on 12 March 2010, the conference will delve into the potential uses of smart technologies and be hosted by chair of the House of Representatives Standing Committee on Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government, Catherine King.
“The future health of our cities will depend on how well we use advances in technology to address transport, communications and infrastructure challenges,” King said in a video on the conference’s website.
“As populations continue to surge, the problems we face will require lateral thinking.
“The future of our infrastructure development must be smart.”
King said the conference will bring together key government and private sector stake holders, who will “examine ways to maximise the potential benefits of embedding smart technology into Australia’s infrastructure.”
People can apply to register on the website and session suggestions are also being taken. Additionally the conference will be available via webcast.
