In brief: Data#3 flags strong first half

Microsoft licencing and governemnt business drivers 16 per cent increase in 2009/10 first half profits

Data#3 has (ASX:TL) has announced that it is expecting a profit of $6.8m for the first half of 2009/10, a 16 per cent increase on its 2008/09 first half result of $5.8m.

Revenue is expected to increase 34 per cent, driven by a 40 per cent increase in product revenues.

In an ASX statement, the company said the growth in product revenue was attributable to changes in timing for billing of the Federal Government’s Microsoft licensing contract, a key state government contract, and strong revenue growth in product solutions, particularly in NSW and Victoria.

“With investment in information technology in the government sector and corporate sector remaining constrained, this strong performance can be attributed to our national presence and the tenacity with which our people continue to pursue winning in the market,” Data#3 managing director John Grant said in the statement.
