iSOFT picks North America president

ASX-listed health information technology company appoints two to global roles based in Boston

ASX-listed health information technology company, iSOFT (ASX: ISF), has appointed a new group operations director and North America president.

Former IBM staffer and president of global sales and service at Carestream Health, Mike Jackman, joins iSOFT as its group operations director based out of Boston in the US.

Jackman's role has been newly created and is aimed at boosting the company's offerings across the globe.

Following the company's foray into the North American market with the acquisition of BridgeForward Software last year, Robert Miller has been promoted from group commercial director to take up the region's president role. Miller will also be based in Boston.

“We are delighted to have two extremely capable and experienced managers in these new executive roles,” iSOFT executive chairman and chief executive officer, Gary Cohen, said in a statement. “I look forward to having Mike Jackman’s expertise as part of our executive team. Robert Miller’s proven management experience and his knowledge of iSOFT’s broad portfolio of healthcare IT solutions will provide a significant boost to our US plans.”

Despite a strong global health IT market, iSOFT last week recorded declines across its revenues after tax profits and EBITDA for the half year to 31 December 2009.

The company recorded revenue of $237.3 million, down 1 per cent year on year. EBITDA was $40.8 million, down 27 per cent over the same period. Net profit after tax was $4.8 million, down 27 per cent.
