St George Internet banking down

Mobile and web platforms appear affected

St George Internet banking appears to be intermittently inaccessible for desktop and mobile customers.

Computerworld Australia first noticed the outage at about 9.30AM today, and has verified the problem with customers on various mobile devices.

The St George website was not responding, while the mobile platform including the iPhone app would redirect users between “ibank1” and “ibank2” before failing.

The online banking service was momentarily accessible at 11AM, before it appeared to crash again.

Computerworld Australia could not access the Internet banking service on the website at the time of publication.

A St George Bank spokesman had not confirmed the outages by the time of publication.

St George Bank is pushing to integrate the Internet banking services with Westpac following their merger in December 2008. The banks are considering cherry-picking platforms including St George’s customer and relationship management system, Firefly, and its teller system, Spider, with Westpac’s finance and treasury systems.
