ICT research and development centre, NICTA, has added to its board, appointing funds management company, OneVentures, CEO, Dr Michelle Deaker.
Graham Hellestrand has stepped down from the board to pursue other activities.
In a statement, Deaker said the appointment gave her “a wonderful opportunity to support new IT and Communications businesses as they make their way out of laboratories and into the marketplace”.
After generating $30 million from the sale of an electronic gift card and voucher company, Deaker established OneVentures in 2006. That company is part of the Federal Government’s Innovation Investment Fund program.
The remaining board members are: Neville Stevens AO (Chair), Dr David Skellern (CEO), Prof. Michael Brooks, Jennifer Clark, Loftus Harris AM, Dr Chris Beare, George Campbell OAM, Prof. Barney Glover and Brand Hoff.
