Comms Dept to take a word of advice

Technology Advice Panel to provide expert industry knowledge

The Department of Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy is turning to industry for expert advice on the broadcasting, communications and information technology environments.

Under the scheme, the department will set up a Technology Advice Panel to provide it with industry research and analysis, technology solution and implementation advice, along with testing, measurement, compliance assessments advice.

Due to commence in August, the advisory services will cover areas such as wire-line technologies and services, wireless and radio frequency based technologies and services, and satellite technologies and services.

Service provider system infrastructure and technologies, cyber-security infrastructure technologies and services, and R&D in areas such as biotechnology and high performance computing will also be covered.

Advice on specific industry verticals, such as education, healthcare and life sciences, and finance will also be provided.
