CorpTech moves to secure file transfer

Current setup nearing end of life

Queensland Department of Public Works shared services provider CorpTech is looking for a managed secure file transfer server as its current setup is out of date.

Department documents state that the offering must enable the secure transfer of classified data via the internet and provide for tracking of all file transfer actions while ensuring the integrity of the data.

“Examples of systems and environments with which the solution needs to integrate include SAP, Microsoft SQL server and .NET Framework to enable automation and event driven triggers," the documents read.

The scope of the project includes a design that will incorporate a mirrored solution to enable high availability and resiliency of the final system.

"No direct data connections will be permitted from data sources external to the central network while the file transfer services must be terminated in a secure zone."

The offering needs to be Linux/Unix based and integrate an anti-virus solution. A licence usage count of 500 has been estimated.

The unit is responsible for the design, build and maintenance of corporate information systems to manage Queensland Government finances and human resources. A business objective for CorpTech is to consolidate the number of human resource and finance business offerings across Government and to support the shared service providers to achieve standardised business practices and processes across their client agencies.

The agency was targeted during the recently failed rollout of payroll systems for Queensland Health.

CorpTech also provides a whole of government file transfer service to agencies and shared service providers. This is used in payment and payroll processes where data is exchanged between agencies and various system instances including SAP and Aurion.
