HR, payroll business triples for TechnologyOne

Software growth driven by demand for better employee management

Software provider TechnologyOne (ASX: TNE) has announced a three fold increase in revenue, new customers and employees for its Human Resources and Payroll software.

The product is based on a work lifecycle approach, meaning it manages all employees based on their individual requirements, from induction to termination.

The company attributes the success to acting on customer feedback and investing in research and development.

It recently opened a $12 million R&D facility in Brisbane.

Approximately 200 organisations, including The Salvation Army and Careers Australia, have purchased the offering.

NSW Great Lakes Council systems administrator, Simon Hayes, said that it chose the offering because TechnologyOne worked closely with its customers.

“Having TechnologyOne involved with our user group means we can give regular feedback about our software needs and issues, and we actually see a result,” Hayes said in a statement.

He also said Great Lakes Council had been able to cut one day per week from the time it takes to processing payroll by using the software.

“We needed to reduce the administrative burden without jeopardising the accuracy or security of our payroll system,” Hayes said.

TechnologyOne Human Resources and Payroll general manager, Iain Rouse, said in a statement that the company was expecting even more demand for the software as Australia and the rest of the world emerged from the global financial crisis and entered a renewed skills shortage.

“During the GFC we saw an increase in demand for e-services to cut administrative workload, such as those enabling employees to manage their own leave balance and timesheets,” Rouse said in a statement.

“In the last few months, our customers have indicated that employee retention has once again become a top priority, so HR managers are looking for incentives such as training and development,” he said.
