APRA recruits online jobs system

Will more support the agency’s recruitment and on-boarding processes

The Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) is to deploy an online recruiting system as a means to more effectively and efficiently support the agency’s recruitment and on-boarding processes.

According to the APRA, an online recruitment system is required to handle the 4500 applications received yearly for up to 120 vacancies on average per year.

“[An online recruitment system] will provide the ability to maximise the opportunities that a candidate pool of this size potentially offers, whilst at the same time providing efficiencies across the board to improve role creation, applicant engagement, reporting, and on-boarding processes within a secure and auditable framework,” APRA documents on the project read.

“The system … will support APRA in its endeavour to provide a streamlined, efficient, end to end process that is aligned to industry best practices.”

The APRA’s IT environment is based on Microsoft and Oracle.

The APRA also recently released its guide to the risks of Cloud computing for financial services organisations.

In March the regulator said it would undergo a strategic review of its business processes and IT systems across its five business divisions.

In February it moved to address issues around information and IT risk in the institutions it supervises with the release of a new prudential practice guide.
