Microsoft Australia appoints new enterprise and partner director

Craig Foster will take on the role, succeeding new MD Pip Marlow

Microsoft Australia has appointed Craig Foster as its new enterprise and partner director to oversee the direction and management of the company’s local business with its enterprise customers and partners.

Foster succeeds Pip Marlow, who was appointed managing director of the company’s local arm in January, following the departure of Tracey Fellows in December 2010 to take on the role of MD for Microsoft’s Asia Pacific business.

“I’m delighted to announce that Craig has been appointed as Enterprise and Partner Group Director,” Marlow said in a statement. “Craig has an extremely strong background in both commercial and Public Sector engagement, and understands the needs of our customers and partners in this segment.”

Previously Foster has held a number of roles within Microsoft throughout his six years with the company, prior to which he held management roles with NCR, AT&T, Siemens and PeopleSoft.

“I’m excited to take the lead on such an important part of Microsoft’s business in Australia as we work closely with our customers and partners on their transition to the cloud,” said Foster.

According to Foster, the company would continue to leverage its Cloud research and development program continuing investment in its local team and partners to build and refine its Cloud transition skills.

Foster currently represents Microsoft on the Federal Government’s Business-Schools Education Roundtable and previously was a member of the Advisory for the Minister of State Development in Queensland.
