Anittel snaps up Dubbo-based IT West

ICT company Anittel (ASX:AYG) has purchased an IT services provider and software developer for an undisclosed sum

Anittel (ASX:AYG) has acquired Dubbo-based managed IT services provider, IT West.

Anittel, an IT and telecom services provider, did not disclose the price it paid for the purchase. But the company said it expects the move to strengthen its presence in regional NSW.

IT West provides support services including network installation and administration, hardware troubleshooting and training, as well as software development.

The company's managing director, Peter Vane, will now participate in developing Anittel's strategy for regional Australia.

Anittel managing director, Peter Kazacos, said the purchase “shows we are well-placed to continue to expand our customer base in regional areas in an affordable way.”

The company recently negotiated and activated a new $5 million finance facility, which may have helped supply the funds for the purchase.

As well as Vane, Anittel has recently added former KAZ Group executive, Michael O'Sullivan, to its team as its non-executive director, and tapped Ingram Michael sales director, John Walters, to provide consultancy services.

AYG shares remained flat during Tuesday's trading at $0.007.
