Queensland-based mining company Macarthur Coal is on the hunt for a new CIO, following the recent departure of David Rose.
Rose left the position several weeks ago after joining the company as CIO in October 2008. Peter Blackbeard is currently acting in the position until a permanent replacement is found.
The role, advertised on Seek will report to the chief financial officer and be charged with driving all aspects of ICT across the company and operate ICT operating and capital budgets.
The company produces a low volatile pulverised injection coal product used for steel making, which it exports globally. It also operates two mines in Queensland's Bowen Basin and is looking to increase production capacity through the development of the Middlemount Mine project.
The new CIO will conduct a full analysis and evaluation of the existing information systems strategy including the development of an ICT vision for hardware, systems and software to ensure close alignment with business objectives.
The successful candidate will also oversee the development and implementation of an enterprise wide disaster recovery and business continuity plan as well as developing and maintaining strong relationships with vendors throughout the process to maximise service delivery capability and minimise costs.
Experience within the CIO space or as a general manager of ICT, particularly within the mining and construction industry, is preferred.
