DonateLife to roll out SharePoint

Transplant authority to replace user portal, create collaboration

DonateLife has sent out a request for tender after announcing its intentions to roll out the latest version of SharePoint across its nationwide network.

Despite news that IT managers are choosing WordPress over SharePoint as their preferred CMS, the Australian Organ and Tissue Donation and Transplantation Authority said in its tender document that its rollout of SharePoint 2010 will include the implementation of a new Extranet, which will replace its current user portal and introduce collaboration tools for its staff to use.

The rollout will allow staff to re-engineer data entry input, with entries closing on 16 June, the contract due to commence early August and implementation starting late October this year.

The authority said the software install will support nine measures of a national reform package for the organ and tissue donation and transplantation sector; reform which is aiming to establish Australia as a world leader in the donation space.
