Addressing defective data

Australian business is struggling with billing problems because of defective data and poor information management, according to QAS managing director Jonathan Hulford-Funnell.

Presenting the company's address management technology QuickAddress, which provides local postal addresses over the Web, Hulford-Funnell said poor data management is creating real problems for organisations, including loss of revenue.

He admitted the address management market in Australia is still in its infancy but believes this is changing rapidly, particularly with the growth in CRM applications.

QuickAddress captures and verifies postal address details of Web site visitors. It also generates addresses in a consistent format for integration into other applications such as CRM.

It has both ActiveX and Java interfaces and intelligent matching features to correct addresses when errors are made by the Web site visitor.

The software sources addresses from Australia Post but also has access to international listings including France, America, Germany, The Netherlands, the UK and Spain.

By early 2002, Singapore, Denmark, Luxembourg, Canada and New Zealand will also be available.
