Global security company Entrust has appointed former Apple security expert, Jon Callus, as its new chief technology officer.
Callus will be responsible for new technology and innovation as the company continues to develop services for mobile, as well as logical and physical security. He will report directly to Entrust chief executive, Bill Conner.
“Jon’s deep understanding of mobile security, coupled with his recognised expertise in growing and leading software businesses make him a natural complement to our organization,” Conner said in a statement.
Previously, Callas co-founded email and data encryption software company, PGP Corporation and was an operating system security expert with Apple. He has also held leadership positions with Wave Systems Corporation, Digital Equipment Corporation and Counterpane Internet Security and authored several Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) standards including OpenPGP, DKIM, and ZRTP.

Microsoft Australia
Microsoft has appointed Michelle Tea as services director for the company’s Australian arm.
In the new role, Tea will be responsible for the consulting and enterprise support division of Microsoft Australia which helps businesses maximise the return on their investment in Microsoft products and technologies. She will also oversee a team of staff that accelerate adoption, streamline deployment and optimise the use of Microsoft IT solutions as well as develop new IT initiatives for customers.
Commenting on the appointment, Microsoft Australia managing director, Pip Marlow, said Tea had strong track record in managing IT services delivery to Australian businesses.
“Her strong operational expertise, combined with her commitment to our customers and partners, will further enable our services team to help our enterprise and public sector customers succeed, particularly as they evaluate and move to cloud solutions," Marlow said.
Tea joined the company back in 2008 as NSW public sector director, before being moving into the role of OEM director where she was responsible for directing the company’s business with its partners, including OEMs, distributors, resellers and retailers.
Previously she has worked in the ICT sector in senior roles with Dimension Data.
