Fujitsu crashes enterprise tablet party with secure browser

Tool clears the cache and cripples copy and paste

Fujitsu has released a new tablet and mobile security browser aimed at scrubbing the oft-lost devices of valuable data.

Users of its  Mobile Browser Connection Service would connect to the enterprise intranet over Fujitsu’s FENICS II browser app, launched Thursday.

Fujitsu claimed its app, which will be available for both iOS and Android devices “enables enterprise users to access websites, applications, web e-mail, groupware, address books, and other resources without leaving business data and logs on their mobile devices.”

The service would also render web content in a format that more easily digested by mobile devices.

While the browser itself is free, currently available on Android Market and soon available on the Apple App Store, the Mobile Browser Connection Service would cost around AU$1800 per month for 300 users, or $6 per user over a month.

“Unlike standard mobile browsers, the service includes a variety of features that prevent business data from being left on mobile devices, including automatic cache clearing and restrictions on copy and paste functions,” it explained.

“With advanced security measures in place, customers can securely and safely use mobile devices as part of their business processes.”
