Australian independent professionals have high levels of job satisfaction, a new survey has claimed.
The IPro Index, conducted by Monash University for Entity Solutions, found that out of the 375 independent professionals, or IPros, surveyed, the average score of overall job satisfaction was 7.4 out of 10, while the score for commitment to a current workplace came in at 6.1.
Entity Solutions’ CEO, Matthew Franceschini, said the results showed the often short term nature of employee loyalty.
“We are in a market that is fundamentally shifting towards assignment and project-based work,” Franceschini said. “It's time we began to understand the motivators and behaviours of the people carrying out these roles.”

Eight seven per cent IPros surveyed said they are satisfied with their work, with 89 per cent saying they feel proud of the work they do.
“IPros bring a great deal of vigour, dedication, absorption and professional efficacy to their tasks,” Franceschini said.
“It's not hard to see why some companies are serial users of them. They realise the benefits of tapping into this enthusiasm and energy.”
Forty nine per cent of IPros admitted that finding better work would be difficult.
