The Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) is moving to get a better handle over its procurement with a new enterprise-wide management system.

The system will handle tender management, contract management, and supplier relationship management and will integrate with the Department’s SAP-based financial management system.

The procurement management system It will also integrate with DEEWR’s SharePoint and TRIM-based document and records management system and RiskActive-based risk management system.

According to DEEWR, a new system will allow the end-to-end management of procurements, contracts, assets and suppliers as well as whole-of-life asset management and supplier relationship management.

The system will also allow for automated procurement and an integrated repository of procurement and contract management information. Benefits are anticipated to include easier compliance with commonwealth procurement and contract management guidelines; improved business agility and data quality; reduced administrative demands; and streamlined procurement and contract management processes.
