Vodafone Hutchison Australia has launched its presence on Google+, aimed at improving its customer service and support.
After receiving the highest number of telco complaints earlier this year due to customer service and network issues, Vodafone Australia has created a profile on Google's social networking site to provide customers another channel to communicate with the telco.
Racking up 614 followers so far, up from 204, the telco’s general manager for online, Ben Kimber, said the social networking site will help the company inform its customers about the latest handsets, software updates, network rollouts and any information they need.
Vodafone Australia’s expanding online presence follows the recent launch of its Vodafone Community, an online forum that enables customers to communicate with the telco’s staff; Twitter account; and Facebook page.
The embattled telco hopes the simplicity of Google+, compared to Facebook, will encourage users to interact with staff and help bolster its image and service.
