Anittel takes out top award at Technology Fast 50 awards

Telco provider recognised for growth through aquisition

IT and telecommunications service provider, Anittel (ASX: AYG), has taken home the top award at Deloitte’s 2011 Technology Fast 50 awards in Sydney today.

The company, which was recognised for its strong growth through acquisition, was up against many companies including Vocus and Hotels Combined to take out the top award, with leader of the top 50 program at Deloitte, Joshua Tanchel, saying Anittel was a standout.

“Over the past several months, Anittel has opened two new office locations to increase its national footprint to 17 regional and metropolitan office locations,” Tanchel said.

“Particularly impressive across all of this year’s winning technology companies is the way they have all capitalised on opportunities in a somewhat cautious market and strategically prepared themselves for improved economic conditions.”

Anittel recorded a growth of over 1000 per cent in the past three years, this year announcing it had entered a carrier agreement with NBN Co and it had snapped up Dubbo-based managed IT services provider, IT West.

The company also took out the leadership award at the ceremony; an award presented to Australian technology companies who have made in excess of $50 million this year.

Coming in second place at the awards was value add distributor Observatory Crest Australia, with online aggregator BizCover taking out third.
