Australia’s number two telco, Optus, has finally jumped on the iPad 2 bandwagon making the device available for Australian customers from today.
Optus will offer all models of the iPad 2 — 16GB, 32B and 64GB — with WiFi + 3G connectivity on a range of 24 month plans as well as outright for prepaid customers.
Pricing starts at $0 upfront for the 16GB model and costs $49 per month which includes 4GB of data allowance. The 64GB model has a $10 monthly device fee and costs $59 per month for 8GB of data.
The telco follows both Telstra and Vodafone which began offering the tablet over a month ago.
The iPad 2 features Apple’s dual-core A5 processor and includes two cameras, a front-facing VGA camera for FaceTime and Photo Booth, and a rear-facing camera that captures 720p high definition video.
The device will be available from “selected” Optus retail locations.
