Telstra releases NBN pricing

The pricing details follow the telco's signing of the NBN wholesale agreement

Telstra has unveiled its pricing for the services it will offer over the National Broadband Network (NBN), with broadband plans starting from $49.95 for 50GB of data and download speeds of 25 megabits per second (Mbps).

The pricing details follows the telco’s signing of NBN Co’s wholesale broadband agreement (WBA).

Telstra customers will have the option of bundled home phone and broadband plans or data-only plans. Bundled plans start at $80 per month on a 24-month plan for 5GB, download speeds of up to 25Mbps and unlimited local calls, and ranges to $150 per month for 500GB of data, download speeds of up to 100Mbps and unlimited local and STD calls as well as unlimited calls to Australian mobiles.

Data-only NBN plans range from $49.95 per month on a 24-month plan for 50GB of data and download speeds of 25Mbps, to $89.95 for 500GB of data at the same download speeds. Customers on data-only plans can also access speeds of 100Mbps for a further $10 monthly fee.

According to Telstra chief customer officer, Gordon Ballantyne, the telco has had 500 customers trial NBN services over the past six months and has since set up a dedicated call centre to manage customer enquiries and develop information packages for customers, which they can access online or at Telstra stores.
