Telstra announced a set of data products for wholesale customers available today.
Telstra’s new Data Advantage line-up includes a managed lease line product providing transmission with SDH and Ethernet interfaces. An Ethernet access service is built on a new Virtual Private LAN Service (VPLS) network and covers 1700 exchanges. Telstra announced an Ethernet backhaul product for large capacity customers, also using the VPLS network. The telco unveiled “Wavelength”, a point-to-point fibre product connecting major cities and data centres that will cover all NBN points of interconnect.
The products use zone-based pricing and are supported by Telstra Wholesale’s quote tool, which expedites wholesale pricing.
Telstra said it would continue to supply and support existing data services as wholesale customers transition to the Data Advantage products.
“With consumer, business and enterprise data usage increasing exponentially, our customers can now manage the data needs of their end-users and clients more easily,” said Telstra Wholesale general manager for product solutions, Bryce Blacker. “They can download the Quote Tool application to their desktop and in a matter of minutes, locate the route they want to deploy and select the best service to meet their needs.”
