Cricket Australia has signed a multi-million dollar contract with Orange Business Services in order to transform its server infrastructure and protect confidential information from external threats.
The deal includes a secure infrastructure as a service (IaaS) cloud offering called Flexible Computing Premium. According to Orange, the product helps companies build a custom IT infrastructure platform and includes managed Internet access services.

New servers and virtual machines will also be provided by Orange to ensure that Cricket Australia's critical applications are not disrupted.
In addition, the infrastructure will provide a secure cloud service to protect confidential Cricket Australia and customer information from external threats.
According to the sporting organisation’s business and advisory executive general manager, Kate Banozic, all state cricketing bodies aligned under Cricket Australia will have access to the shared services in a secure environment, thereby reducing administrative burdens.
“With Orange, we can maximise efficiencies within the IT infrastructure, allowing our state bodies and ourselves to operate more effectively and collaboratively,” Banozic said in a statement.
“Our intent is to deliver to our customers an enhanced Web experience, particularly during activity peaks.”
