Vodafone restoring 2G, 3G services in flood-affected Queensland

Restorations at Elanora to Andrews, Mermaid Waters, Alexandria Hills have failed.

Vodafone is in the process of restoring 2G and 3G services to flood-affected suburbs in Queensland.

3G services from Surfers Paradise to Currumbin are operative, with 20 sites resorted and five under investigation, according to an entry on the telco's blog updated this morning at 11.30am.

The mains power from Elanora to Andrews was restored yesterday, but four out of the seven sites failed for the second time. The telco is currently investigating the cause.

The mains power at Mermaid Waters and surrounding areas also failed after it was restored yesterday and is being restored again.

A back-up generator that was moved to the main site at Alexandria Hills and surrounding areas failed overnight and is currently being restored again.

A generator has been delivered to one of the two main sites at Airline Beach to Prosperpine. Bundy and Maryborough areas currently have restricted access.

A generator was also delivered to sites from Kingston to Mt Gravatt, with fives sites restored and one with restricted access.

Banora, Tweed Heads mains power outage is being investigated, along with Burbank and surrounding areas.

Deception Bay and surrounding areas have restricted access.
