Vodafone has warned South Coast customers to expect service disruptions next week as the telco upgrades the network.
“It means better reception and faster speeds in a matter of a few months,” Vodafone wrote on its blog. “But till then, there’s the chance of a service disruption over the next week.”

Customers may experience issues on both the 2G and 3G networks between 9am and 4pm, Vodafone said. There could be “a temporary disruption when calling or texting your friends and family ... and also when tweeting, posting or surfing the net,” it said.
Affected areas in New South Wales include Batemans Bay, Quaama, Bergalia and Moruya.
Vodafone is spending billions to upgrade its 3G network, and plans to roll out 4G service later this year. The telco also has been working to soothe customers complaining of frequent network issues.
