NextDC (ASX:NXT) has entered into a new contract with an unnamed company for the provision of data centre services.
A NextDC spokeswoman said the client did not want to be publicly named.
In an ASX release, the data centre provider said that the customer had contracted for capacity across its facilities. The term of the contract is for five years with an option to extend. The customer’s initial commitment represents revenue of approximately $60 million excluding electricity recharges.
In April 2013, Optus announced that it would offer its PowerON cloud services at NextDC's sites.
The telco said it had completed laying fibre to NextDC's data centres in Brisbane, Canberra and Melbourne, linking the data centres to Optus' Evolve Network.
Australia Post was confirmed as a tenant in the Melbourne 1 (M1) facility in April. Under the deal, 70 racks of Australia Post infrastructure are hosted in a dedicated pod.
Telecommunications provider Pacnet announced in February that it was consolidating three data centres in Melbourne into a caged suite at the M1 facility. The suite houses around 100 racks containing Pacnet data.
