Optus has switched on 25 new 4G sites in Adelaide and completed a major expansion of its 3G network in the city, including upgrading 150 3G mobile sites.
The telco’s 4G in Adelaide can now be accessed in:
- the CBD
- North Adelaide
- inner eastern and south eastern areas, such as Hackney, Kent Town, Norwood, Beulah Park, Rose Park, Toorak Gardens, Dulwich, Glenside and Eastwood
- western and inner-western areas, including West Lakes, Hindmarsh, Mile End, Hilton, Richmond and Netley (including coverage at the airport)
- Modbury
- Unley and Wayville
Optus plans to add a further 100 new mobile sites in Adelaide and upgrade more than 100 existing mobile sites over the next 24 months to provide further 3G and 4G coverage in the city.
Optus now has 4G FD-LTE coverage in five state capitals – Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide, and Brisbane, as well as popular regional tourist destinations, including Byron Bay, Coffs Harbour and the Gold Coast.
A 4G TD-LTE network went live in Canberra in late May and will later be rolled out to other markets.
