Objective Corporation, a software developer that listed on the ASX last August, has won a sale of its Objective enterprise knowledge management system to Great Southern Energy in southern NSW. The system will provide Great Southern Energy with an application capable of managing corporate information and record-keeping processes throughout the organisation, a spokesman explained. The software will initially be implemented at Great Southern Energy's head office in Queanbeyan before being rolled out to support the entire enterprise.

IBA Technologies has won a contract for the provision of software and services worth more than $A1.9 million to St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne. The fee covers the software licence and services associated with IBA's Patient Administration System over a five year contract term. Installation has begun and the system is scheduled to go live before the end of this year. A spokesman said the IBA software will replace a Cardinal system that is running on a mainframe.

The Sydney Futures Exchange has turned to Compaq for hardware to run a new Allocation, Clearing and Settlement system. Compaq will provide an array of AlphaServer DS20E systems running Open VMS with a Fibre Channel-based storage area network and an Oracle database. The SFE recently merged with Austraclear to create the leading provider of clearing, settlement and depository services in Australia and NZ.
