Foxtel Go comes to Android, but Samsung devices only

The Foxtel Go app is now available on selected Samsung mobile and tablet devices

The Foxtel Go app is now available on selected Samsung mobile and tablet devices, the company announced today.

The app allows Foxtel home subscribers to stream up to 60 live television channels and watch catch-up TV content.

It is initially available on selected Samsung Android tablets and smartphones, including the popular Galaxy S III, the Galaxy Note II and the Galaxy Note 10.1.

However, it does not currently support the flagship Galaxy S4 smartphone.

When questioned as to why one of the most popular smartphones on the market is not compatible, a Foxtel spokesperson said the company has not had enough time to develop the app for the handset just yet.

"Just like many customers, we only recently got our hands on the Galaxy S4. We are working as fast as we can to make Foxtel Go available on it, we’ll keep you posted.”

In addition to being available on selected Samsung Android tablets and smartphones. Foxtel Go is also available for PC and Mac computers.

Foxtel has also increased the number of devices that can be registered to Foxtel Go from two to three.

The Foxtel Go app was first released as an iPad-only app in November 2012, before becoming available for the iPhone and iPod touch back in February.
