Kogan Mobile and new mobile player Yatango have signed a deal to allow former Kogan Mobile customers a free 30-day trial on Yatango.
The deal will include 6GB of data, unlimited voice and unlimited text messages for 30 days.
Yatango said at the end of the free trial, customers will be provided with a summary of their mobile and data usage. Yatango says there is no commitment beyond the 30-day free trial.
The deal comes following the termination of an agreement between Telstra and ispONE, which resold Telstra's services to Kogan Mobile, affecting 120,000 customers with Kogan Mobile.

Yatango is a relatively new player in the telco market, launching in February this year in the crowded mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) market.
The telco uses the Optus 3G network and requires users to sign up through Facebook. It offers subscribers a range of methods for obtaining mobile credit or discount calling rates, such as connecting with other Yatango members who are part of their network and signing up new members.
Yatango plans are built around a sliding scale that allows users to choose how many voice minutes, SMS and data they want, with prices scaling up as users increase the amounts of minutes, SMS and data they require.
Kogan Mobile was previously offering a pre-paid plan of $29 per month for unlimited calls, unlimited SMS and MMS, unlimited voicemail and 6GB of data per month.
This compares to Yatango's 'popular' plan for $25 per month which gives customers 200 voice minutes, 100 SMS and 500MB of data. For an extra $4 customers can increase their data usage to 1GB.
Yatango said it would be launching 4G access for its customers in the coming months. It also plans to further invest in R&D and scale up its Australian operations following a “significant” second round of angel funding. Yatango also has its sights set on international expansion.
“Australian mobile customers need to know that they don’t have to accept the inevitability of overspend or ‘devil in the detail’ of traditional operators. There are other options available that offer greater simplicity, control and transparency,” Andy Taylor, founder and CEO of Yatango, said in a statement.
PAYG rates at Yatango are charged at 15 cents per minute to non Yatango users and 8 cents per minute when calling another Yatango users. No flagfall is charged for any voice calls.
Data is charged at 5 cents per megabyte (MB), SMS at 12 cents each, MMS at 50 cents each and voicemail at 15 cents per minute.
Optus has also previously announced a special offer for former Kogan Mobile and Aldi customers who take up the Optus Prepaid Social 4G plan.
The offer includes double the data and double the standard talk in Australia for the first three recharges of $30 or more. The offer lasts until 30 September, 2013.
