In brief: NAB launches P2P mobile banking app

New Flik app launches on iOS, Android

NAB has taken the wraps off a new mobile app for Android and iPhone handsets. The new Flik app enables peer-to-peer payments including through email, social-networking site Facebook, in-app generate QR codes and NFC.

The bank said it conducted a "lengthy" internal trial of the app with 1000 employees.

“One of the features that we enhanced as part of the internal trial was the ability for customers to send and action payment requests from different people using multiple payment methods. NAB Flik can handle up to 10 of these at one time,” NAB's executive general manager, digital and direct banking, Antony Cahill, said in a statement.

The app has a daily transaction limit of $1000.

ANZ offers a mobile payment app for its customers, supporting payment via mobile number or direct bank transfers. The Commonwealth Bank's Kaching app also offers P2P payments and includes NFC support.
