Commander reveals 4G business plans

Fast new plans run on the Optus network.

Commander has entered the 4G business space with new plans announced today.

Business customers with 4G-compatible handsets can subscribe to new “Rapid” plans from Commander, which is part of the M2 Group.

Commander’s mobile services run on the Optus network. Where Optus 4G is not available, the plan reverts to the 3G network.

4G in Australia: The state of the nation

Continuing a trend in the Australian market of seemingly cheap plans with little included data, Commander offers a $25 monthly plan that includes only 500 MB per data. The most data Commmander provides at a base rate is 2 GB for $60 monthly.

All of the plans include automatic data top ups to a certain limit before excess fees of 10 cents per MB apply. The $25 plan, for example, charges $15 per 250 MB up to 1 GB. That means a customer who uses 1.5 GB on that plan would end up paying $85 for the month.

Subscribers on the $60 plan get a better-value automatic top-up, paying $15 per gig up to 4GB before having to pay the excess rate.

Complete details on all the 4G plans available are on the Commander website.
