Fujitsu scores $19m deal with Land Victoria

Land Victoria has outsourced the design, development and facilities management for its new land titles business system in a five-year contract worth $19 million.

Fujitsu was the successful tenderer on the deal with Technology One a subcontractor.

Part of the Victorian Department of Natural Resources and Environment, Land Victoria aims to automate its Land Titles Register to provide immediate electronic searches on land information in the state and enable speedier titles registrations at the counter.

Pauline Clancy, deputy director, Land Registry, Land Victoria, said the new system is scheduled to go live in October 2000.

Remote lodgement of new registration requests will follow later, Clancy said.

In a separate deal, Land Victoria has commissioned Hermes Precisa to convert 3.8 million paper-based land titles to electronic format by mid-2000.
